Once you have found a table, the next step is to shuffle the deck of cards. This can be done by hand or with a shuffling machine.

After the deck is shuffled, it is time to deal out the cards.

The dealer will start by dealing two cards to each player, face down. The dealer will then put two cards down in front of themself, one face up and one face down.

These are called the player’s hand and the dealer’s hand respectively.

After the initial deal, each player has the option to hit or stand. Hitting means taking another card from the deck and adding it to your hand.
