Is Maria Konnikova Still Playing Poker?

Maria Konnikova is one of the most successful and well-known professional poker players in the world. She has won multiple World Series of Poker bracelets and is a regular on the tournament circuit.

However, in recent years she has largely disappeared from the public eye and it is unclear if she is still playing poker.

Konnikova first burst onto the poker scene in 2012, when she won her first WSOP bracelet in the $10,000 No Limit Hold’em Championship. She followed that up with another bracelet win in 2014 and made three final tables at the WSOP in 2015.

She also had a number of deep runs in major tournaments around the world, including a 3rd place finish at the 2015 EPT Barcelona Main Event.

In 2016, Konnikova seemed to be on the verge of becoming one of the top players in the world, but then her results suddenly dried up. She made just one final table that year and her only cash came at a small tournament in Bulgaria.

PRO TIP:Maria Konnikova has stopped playing poker professionally. She is now focusing her time and energy towards writing about the game. However, she does still play the occasional tournament or cash game for fun.

In 2017, she didn’t play a single tournament and her only recorded result was a cash at the 2018 WSOP.

Since then, Konnikova has largely disappeared from the poker world. She hasn’t been active on social media or given any interviews in recent years.

The last time she was seen publicly was at the 2019 WSOP, where she played in a few events but failed to cash.

So what happened to Maria Konnikova? It’s hard to say for sure, but it seems likely that she has retired from professional poker. Konnikova was never really comfortable with the public attention that comes with being a successful poker player and it’s possible that she decided to step away from the game to live a more private life.

Whatever the case may be, Maria Konnikova was one of the most talented and entertaining players of her generation and it’s sad to see her gone from the game.
