How Do I Add Materia Slots?

In Final Fantasy VII, materia are the all-important magic spells and abilities that characters use in battle. Each materia has its own unique effect, and can be equipped in one of eight slots on a character’s weapon or armor.

Characters can only have up to 64 total materia equipped at any given time.

To add materia slots to a weapon or armor piece, players must first find a blacksmith who can do the work. There are several blacksmiths in the game, but the most convenient one is located in the town of Gold Saucer.

The blacksmith there will charge a small fee for each slot added.

Once the player has found a blacksmith and paid the fee, they simply need to select the weapon or armor piece they want to modify and choose the “Add Slot” option. The blacksmith will then add an empty slot to the selected item.

Players can then equip any materia they want in that new slot.

Adding materia slots is a great way to customize a character’s build and make them more powerful in battle. With so many different types of materia available, there are nearly endless possibilities for how characters can be built. Experimenting with different combinations is half the fun of playing Final Fantasy VII!.
