In Vegas, blackjack is one of the most popular games. It is also one of the easiest games to learn and play.
The object of blackjack is to get as close to 21 as possible without going over, and to have a higher hand than the dealer. Here is a step by step guide on how to play blackjack in Vegas.

The first step is to find a blackjack table that suits your budget. Tables can have different betting limits, so it is important to find one that you are comfortable with.
Once you have found a table, take a seat and wait for the dealer to give you chips. These are called “buy-ins”.
When the dealer gives you your chips, they will also give you a card face down. This is your “hole” card and you do not show it to anyone.
The dealer will then deal themselves two cards, one face up and one face down. The face up card is called the “up” card and the face down card is called the “hole” card.
Once all the cards have been dealt, it is time to start playing. The player who has the highest value hand showing starts first. If both players have the same value hand, then the player with the highest value hole card starts first. The player can either “stand” or “hit”.
To stand means to keep the hand you have and not take any more cards. To hit means to ask for another card from the dealer in hopes of improving your hand.
Once all players have either stood or busted (gone over 21), it is then the dealers turn to play their hand. The dealer must follow specific rules when playing their hand which are: if their up card is an Ace they must offer insurance, if their up card is a ten they must check for blackjack, and finally they must hit on 16 or less and stand on 17 or more.
If at any time during the game any player has an Ace and a ten showing (this is called blackjack), they automatically win unless the dealer also has blackjack in which case it results in a push (a tie). If insurance was offered and taken by any player and the dealer does indeed have blackjack, then that player will be paid 2-1 on their insurance bet resulting in them breaking even for that hand.
After all hands have been played out, any player who still has money left in their betting circle will be paid 1-1 on their bets (a win), any player who does not have any money left in their betting circle will lose their bets (a loss), and finally any player who had blackjack will be paid 3-2 on their bet (a win). Blackjack is now complete and another round can begin with all players starting fresh with new bets.
