How Do You Play Blackjack in Spanish?

In Spanish blackjack, the game is played with a Spanish deck of 48 cards. The suits are Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, and Spades. The values on the cards are Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

There are no jokers or wild cards. The object of the game is to have a hand value that is closer to 21 than the dealer’s hand value, without going over 21.

The game begins with each player making a bet. The dealer then deals two cards face up to each player and two cards face down to him or herself. The face down card is called the hole card.

If any player has an Ace and a 10-value card (a 10, Jack, Queen, or King) as their first two cards (this is called a blackjack), that player automatically wins unless the dealer also has a blackjack in which case it is a push (a tie). If any other player has 21 with more than two cards it is still a blackjack but it pays even money instead of 3 to 2 like a two card blackjack does.

After the initial deal, each player has the option to hit (take another card), stand (keep their current hand), double down (double their bet and take only one more card), or split (if they have two cards of the same rank they can split their hand into two separate hands). If a player splits Aces they can only take one more card for each hand and then they must stand.

Once all players have either busted or chosen to stand, the dealer reveals his or her hole card. If the dealer’s hand value is 16 or less he or she must hit until 17 or higher is reached. If the dealer has 17 or more he or she must stand.

If the dealer busts all players who did not already bust win their bets. Otherwise, whoever has the hand value closest to 21 wins their bet and anyone with a lower hand value loses their bet.

Blackjack is a very popular casino game because it offers players good odds of winning. The house edge in Spanish blackjack is only about 1%, so players who know what they’re doing can have a good chance of coming out ahead in the long run.
