Can the Dealer Bust in Blackjack?

In blackjack, the dealer is dealt two cards, one face up and one face down. If the face up card is an ace, then the dealer will offer insurance to the players. If the face up card is a ten, then the dealer will check for a blackjack.

If the dealer has a blackjack, then the game is over and the players lose their bet. If the dealer does not have a blackjack, then the game continues and the players have the option to hit or stand.

PRO TIP:In most versions of Blackjack, the dealer is not allowed to ‘bust’ (go over 21). This means that if they have a total of 17 or higher, they must stand and cannot take any more cards. If the dealer has 16 or lower, they must hit (take another card).

The goal of blackjack is to get as close to 21 as possible without going over. If the player goes over 21, then he or she busts and loses the bet.

The dealer must follow certain rules when playing blackjack. The dealer must hit on 16 or less and stand on 17 or more.

If the dealer busts, then all of the players who are still in the game win their bet.
