As a blackjack dealer, you can make a decent living – certainly enough to support yourself and your family. In fact, many dealers make more money than the average worker.

However, it is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It takes hard work, dedication, and long hours to succeed as a dealer.

The first thing to understand is that dealers make most of their money from tips. Unlike other jobs where you are paid an hourly wage plus tips, as a blackjack dealer your wage is usually lower than minimum wage.

Tips make up the vast majority of your income. Therefore, it is important to be personable and professional with your players if you want to earn good tips.

Of course, not all players are going to tip equally. Some players are simply more generous than others. Additionally, how well you do your job also affects how much players are willing to tip you.

If you make mistakes or seem disinterested in your work, players will be less likely to give you a good tip. Conversely, if you deal flawlessly and with a smile on your face, players will be more likely to show their appreciation with a nice tip.

So how much money can you expect to make as a blackjack dealer? It really varies depending on where you work and the size of the tips you receive. In general, though, most dealers earn between $20,000 and $40,000 per year – not including tips.

If you work in a high-end casino or receive particularly large tips, it is not uncommon to earn much more than this.

At the end of the day, whether or not blackjack dealers make good money depends largely on the individual dealer.
