How Do Bards Regain Spell Slots?

A bard regains spell slots when he or she rests. When a bard rests, he or she can choose to recover all of his or her expended spell slots or just a portion of them.

If a bard chooses to recover only some of his or her expended spell slots, he or she must rest for the same amount of time it would take to recover all of them. For example, if a bard has expended two 1st-level spell slots and one 2nd-level spell slot, he or she can choose to recover all three spell slots by resting for 1 minute, or the bard can choose to recover just the two 1st-level spell slots by resting for 10 minutes.

In addition, a bard can regain some expended spell slots by spending time performing certain tasks related to his or her art. See the regaining spells section for more information.

A bard knows a number of cantrips, or 0-level spells. These spells are cast like any other spell, but they do not consume any spell slots and may be used again.
