How Do You Play Perfect Pairs in Blackjack?

In blackjack, Perfect Pairs is a side bet that pays out if the first two cards dealt to a player are a pair. The odds of being dealt a pair are about 1 in 20, so the Perfect Pairs bet offers poor value for most players.

There are three different types of pairs that can be formed with the first two cards: mixed (one red and one black card), colored (two cards of the same color), or perfect (two cards of the same rank). The payout for each type of pair is different, as shown in the table below.

To make a Perfect Pairs bet, place your chips in the designated area before the dealer deals the cards. You can bet any amount up to the table limit.

PRO TIP:For the Perfect Pairs bet in Blackjack, remember that you must place an additional wager equal to your original bet. To win this side bet, your first two cards must form a pair (i.e. both cards are of the same rank and suit). It pays out based on the type of pair you are dealt, ranging from 6:1 for two cards of the same rank but different suits (mixed pair) up to 25:1 for two cards of the same rank and suit (perfect pair).

Once the cards are dealt, the dealer will check for pairs and pay out winners. If you do not form a pair, you lose your bet.

Perfect Pairs is a fun side bet that can add excitement to any game of blackjack. However, because of the low odds of winning, it is not a good bet for most players.
