PRO TIP:Pai Gow Poker is a game that blends elements of traditional poker and the Chinese game Pai Gow. It is played with a standard deck of cards plus one joker, and up to six players can participate. The goal of the game is to create two hands out of seven cards, one five-card hand and one two-card hand, that are better than those of the dealer. The five-card hand follows standard poker rules, while the two-card hand must be made up of a pair or other high-ranking combination. If both your hands beat those of the dealer’s you win; if not you lose.

Pai Gow poker is played with six players and a dealer. The dealer deals seven cards to each player face down. The players then look at their cards and make two hands: a five-card hand and a two-card hand.

The five-card hand must be higher than the two-card hand. The player with the highest five-card hand wins the pot.

If the player has the highest five-card hand and the highest two-card hand, they are said to have “pushed” and their bet is returned to them. If the player has the highest five-card hand but the Lowest two-card hand, they “win” their bet minus a 5% commission.
