How Does Scrum Poker Work?

In Scrum poker, each team member is given a deck of cards with different point values. Each member then selects a card from their deck, without showing anyone else their card, and places it face down in front of them.

PRO TIP:Scrum Poker is a great way to help teams estimate the effort needed to complete a project. It involves each team member assigning a numerical value (or “poker card”) to an identified task. Once everyone has assigned their “poker card”, the team discusses and agrees on the final value. This allows for more accurate estimation of the effort needed to complete a project.

Once everyone has selected a card, all the cards are revealed at the same time and the person with the highest value card is the winner. The winner gets to choose the next task or user story to work on.

Scrum poker is a great way to get everyone involved in the planning process and to ensure that everyone understands the tasks at hand. It also allows for quick decision making and can help prevent scope creep.
