How Many Slots Are in a Minecraft Inventory?

There are a total of 33 slots in the Minecraft inventory, 27 of which are for item stacks and 6 of which are for armor. The 2×2 crafting grid is not counted as a slot.

The player has access to these slots by default, and more can be gained by installing mods or using resource packs.

Inventory slots are used to hold items and blocks in the player’s possession. They can be accessed by pressing E, or by clicking on the icon in the lower right corner of the screen.

Items in the inventory can be rearranged by dragging and dropping them around, or by pressing the numbers on the keyboard that correspond to their slot.

The first 9 inventory slots are reserved for the player’s hotbar. The hotbar is where players keep their most frequently used items within easy reach.

The remaining inventory slots are divided into 4 rows of 9 slots each. These can be accessed by clicking on the icons at the bottom of the screen, or by pressing Tab while hovering over an item stack in the main inventory area.

Armor slots are located in the player’s inventory window, above the item stacks. There are 4 armor slots: boots, leggings, chestplate, and helmet.

Armor can be equipped by drag and dropping it onto the appropriate slot, or by right-clicking on the armor piece while it is in your inventory.

The 2×2 crafting grid is found in the player’s inventory window, below the item stacks. It is used to craft items from scratch using raw materials. To use the crafting grid, first select a recipe from the recipe book (opened by pressing L).

Then, drag the required ingredients from your inventory into the correct slots on the crafting grid. Finally, press craft to create the item.
