In October 2005, Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. announced plans to merge with London Clubs International PLC (LCI), a leading operator of casinos in the United Kingdom.

The merger was completed on February 1, 2006. The combined companies were renamed Caesars Entertainment Corporation.
