Foxwoods Resort Casino is set to reopen on August 6, 2020, after being closed for nearly four months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, which owns and operates the casino, announced the news on July 21.

The casino will operate at 50% capacity with a number of safety measures in place, including mandatory face masks for all guests and employees, temperature checks at all entrances, increased cleaning and sanitization protocols, and social distancing throughout the property. Foxwoods will also offer contactless check-in and mobile gaming options.

“We have been through a lot over the past few months but we are ready to reopen our doors and start welcoming back our guests,” said Butler. “We can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on.”

PRO TIP:Foxwoods Casino is reopening on June 1st, 2020. Before visiting, please be sure to check their website for the latest information on their health and safety protocols, as well as any restrictions and guidelines that may be in place.

The reopening of Foxwoods comes as casinos in other parts of the country are beginning to resume operations. Las Vegas casinos reopened on June 4 after being shuttered for more than two months.

However, many casinos in other states remain closed due to ongoing concerns about the pandemic.

It is still unclear how successful Foxwoods’ reopening will be, given the continued health concerns around COVID-19. However, the casino is hopeful that its safety measures will give guests the confidence they need to return.

Only time will tell if Foxwoods’ gamble pays off.
