Yes, the Lake of the Torches Casino is closed. It shut its doors on April 6, 2020.

The casino had been in operation for over 30 years.

The decision to close the casino was made by the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians. The tribe’s chairman, Wilfred Cleveland, said that the closure was due to the “significant economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
