Is Poker Back at Encore?

As the popularity of poker continues to decline in Las Vegas, one casino is hoping to change the trend. Encore, the sister property of Wynn Las Vegas, is now home to the first poker room on the Strip in nearly four years.

The new room features eight tables with a variety of games and limits. It’s a small room, but it’s a start.

And with Encore being one of the most popular casinos in town, it could be a sign that poker is finally starting to make a comeback.

PRO TIP:Encore is now offering poker games in its casino. Be sure to read the rules before playing, as some of the regulations have changed due to the pandemic. Also, make sure you have your mask on and stay socially distanced from other players.

Poker rooms began disappearing from Las Vegas casinos several years ago as players moved away from the game and towards other forms of gambling. This led to many of the big Strip casinos, like MGM Grand and Caesars Palace, getting rid of their poker rooms.

But now it seems like poker might finally be making a comeback. In addition to the new room at Encore, there are also plans for a new room at Wynn Las Vegas.

This is thanks in part to the World Series of Poker, which will be held at Wynn next year.

With two of the most popular casinos in Las Vegas adding new poker rooms, it’s clear that there’s still interest in the game. And with the WSOP coming to town, it could be just the boost that poker needs to make a comeback in Sin City.
