The Siloam Springs casino first opened its doors in December of 2015. Since then, it has become a popular destination for gambling and entertainment in the northwestern corner of Arkansas.
The casino is located on Highway 412 just east of the Oklahoma border.
The Cherokee Nation Entertainment, LLC is owned by the Cherokee Nation, one of the largest Native American tribes in the United States. The tribe also owns and operates several other casinos in Oklahoma and Arkansas, including the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa and the Cherokee Casino & Hotel West Siloam Springs.
The temporary closure of the Siloam Springs casino will undoubtedly have a negative economic impact on the city and surrounding region. The casino employs approximately 200 people, many of whom are now out of work due to the shutdown.
In addition, the closure will likely lead to a decrease in tourism and spending in the area.
It is unclear at this time when the Siloam Springs casino will reopen its doors. The Cherokee Nation Entertainment, LLC has not given any indication as to when they plan to resume operations.
However, given the current situation with COVID-19, it is unlikely that the casino will be open for business anytime soon.
