Is the World Series of Poker Being Played This Year?

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is an annual poker tournament held in Las Vegas. It is the most prestigious event in the poker world and attracts the top players from all over the globe.

The WSOP was first held in 1970 and has been held every year since then.

This year, however, the WSOP is in jeopardy due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The tournament was originally scheduled to take place from May 26 to July 15 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

PRO TIP:Due to the ongoing pandemic, the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) was postponed from its traditional late-May start date. The WSOP has announced that the tournament will be held online in the US and abroad in the fall of 2020. For more information on dates, locations, and other details, check out www.wsop.com

However, due to the pandemic, the tournament was postponed to November 29 to December 30.

Now, with the surge in coronavirus cases in Nevada, it is unclear if the tournament will be able to take place as planned. The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino has been closed since March 17 due to the pandemic and it is unclear when it will reopen.

The WSOP is one of the biggest events on the poker calendar and its cancellation would be a huge blow to the poker world. However, given the current situation, it seems increasingly unlikely that the tournament will be able to take place this year.
