As any avid player of The Sims 4 will tell you, one of the most frustrating things about the game is the limit on custom design slots. For those unfamiliar with the term, custom design slots are basically where you can save and store your own custom designs for clothing, furniture, flooring, etc. in The Sims 4.
By default, you only have a limited number of these slots available, and once you fill them up, you have to either delete one of your designs or overwrite it in order to save a new one. This can be incredibly frustrating for players who like to have a lot of creative freedom when it comes to their Sims’ homes and wardrobes.

So is there a way to get more custom design slots in The Sims 4? Unfortunately, as of right now, there is no official way to do so. However, there are a few workarounds that players have come up with that may be able to help you out.
One method is to use an external file explorer (like Windows Explorer) to navigate to The Sims 4’s “Mods” folder. Once there, create a new folder called “override.” Next, go back into The Sims 4 and create the design that you want to save. Once you’re happy with it, go into the “Designs” tab and click on the “Save To File” option.
This will save the design as a .Sims4Package file in your “Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\override” folder. You can then close out of The Sims 4 and delete the original design from your game so that you can save another one in its place.
Another method is to use a mod like MC Command Center or SimDa which both allow you to increase the number of custom design slots in The Sims 4. These mods are safe to use and are available for free from many popular modding sites (just make sure to read through the installation instructions carefully before proceeding).
