What Are Rig Slots for in EVE Online?

In the game EVE Online, “rigs” are special modules that can be fitted to ships in order to improve their performance in specific areas. There are four different types of rigs: CPU, Powergrid, Capacitor, and Sensor.

Each type of rig provides a boost to a different area of a ship’s performance.

CPU rigs increase a ship’s CPU output, which is important for running more powerful modules and for controlling large ships.

Powergrid rigs increase a ship’s powergrid output, which is important for fitting larger modules and for controlling large ships.

Capacitor rigs increase a ship’s capacitor recharge rate, which is important for running more powerful modules and for surviving in combat.

Sensor rigs increase a ship’s sensor strength, which is important for detecting enemies and for avoiding being detected oneself.

Rigs come in three sizes: small, medium, and large. Each size provides a different boost to the ship’s performance, with larger sizes providing larger boosts.

Rigs must be fitted to the appropriate size slot on a ship; small rigs go in small slots, medium rigs go in medium slots, and large rigs go in large slots. Fitting a rig into an inappropriate size slot will provide no benefit.

Rigs are expensive and can only be fitted to one ship at a time; however, they can be easily removed from one ship and fitted to another as needed. This makes them an excellent way to customize a ship’s performance to suit one’s own needs and playstyle.
