What Are the Basic Rules of Blackjack?

Blackjack is one of the most popular casino games in the world, and is also a very simple game to learn. The basic rules of blackjack are as follows:

The game is played with a standard 52-card deck, and the aim of the game is to beat the dealer’s hand by either getting a higher score than them, or by them going bust.

Players are each dealt two cards, face up. The dealer also deals themselves two cards, but one of these is face down.

Players can then choose to either hit (take another card) or stand (keep their current hand). If a player goes over 21 (busts), they automatically lose the hand.

Once all players have finished making their decisions, the dealer will then reveal their face down card and make their own decisions. If the dealer goes bust, then all players still in the hand automatically win.

Otherwise, the player with the highest score wins the hand.
