What Are the Rules for Blackjack at a Casino?

When playing blackjack at a casino, there are a set of rules that must be followed in order to ensure a fair and fun game. First and foremost, blackjack is a game of chance and therefore the house always has an edge.

However, by following these simple rules, players can increase their chances of winning.

The basic rules of blackjack are simple: the aim is to beat the dealer’s hand by having a higher score than them, without exceeding 21. If both the player and dealer exceed 21 (bust), then the player automatically loses.

Once all players have made their decisions, the dealer will reveal their face down card and take further action. If they have 16 or less they must hit, if they have 17 or more they must stand.

If the dealer busts (goes over 21) then any remaining players win their bet. Otherwise, the highest scoring hand wins.
