What Beats a Deuce in Poker?

In poker, a “deuce” is a two. “What beats a deuce?” is a common question among beginner poker players.

The answer is that anything higher than a two will beat a deuce. This means that if you are playing with a group of people and someone has a three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, jack, queen or king in their hand, they will win the pot.

PRO TIP:In poker, a deuce (2) is typically the lowest ranked card in the deck. The only thing that can beat a deuce is a stronger card such as a three or higher. However, if you are playing with wild cards, then any card that has a higher rank than the deuce can beat it.

Aces are high in poker, so an ace would also beat a deuce. In fact, the only thing that can beat an ace is another ace.

If two or more people have an ace in their hand, the person with the highest value card will win. For example, if someone has an ace of spades and another person has an ace of clubs, the person with the ace of spades will win.

If you are playing poker and you have a deuce in your hand, don’t worry – there are still plenty of ways to win the pot!.
