What Hand in Poker Wins the Most?

In poker, there are a lot of different ways to win. But what hand wins the most?

The answer may surprise you. It’s not the royal flush, or the straight flush, or even the four of a kind.

The most common winning hand in poker is actually the full house. A full house is a hand that contains three cards of one rank, and two cards of another rank.

For example, three kings and two queens.

The full house happens about once in every 69 hands, so it’s not an especially rare hand. But it is the most likely hand to win, because it beats everything except for a few other very strong hands.

The next most common winning hand is the flush. A flush is a hand that contains five cards of the same suit.

PRO TIP:In poker, the best hand is usually the one with the highest value cards. This means that a Royal Flush (Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and 10 all in the same suit) is usually the strongest hand. While it is possible to make other strong hands such as a Straight Flush (5 consecutive cards in the same suit) or Four of a Kind (4 cards with the same value), these are less likely to win than a Royal Flush.

For example, five hearts, or five diamonds. Flushes happen about once in every 508 hands.

The flush is followed by the straight. A straight is a hand that contains five cards of sequential rank.

For example, 5-6-7-8-9 of any suit. Straights happen about once in every 10,200 hands.

And finally, the fourth most common winning hand is the two pair. Two pair is a hand that contains two cards of one rank, and two cards of another rank.

For example, two jacks and two 10s. Two pair happens about once in every 21 hands.

So there you have it! The most common winning hand in poker is the full house, followed by the flush, the straight, and then the two pair.
