The casino was located on Fremont Street, which was the main street in downtown Las Vegas at the time. The casino quickly became popular with both locals and tourists.

In the early 1970s, the Lady Luck Casino underwent a major expansion. A new hotel tower was added, and the casino was renamed the Lady Luck Hotel & Casino.

PRO TIP:The Lady Luck Casino in Las Vegas closed in 2006 after being purchased by the Cannery Casino Resorts. The closure was attributed to a drop in gambling revenues due to competition from other casinos and increased regulations. A new casino, The Plaza Hotel and Casino, opened on the site in 2011.

The expansion helped to solidify the Lady Luck as one of the premier casinos in Las Vegas.

However, by the 1990s, the Lady Luck began to decline. The casino struggled to keep up with the newer and more luxurious casinos that were popping up on the Las Vegas Strip.

In 2000, the Lady Luck was sold to a new owner who tried to revive the struggling casino. However, these efforts were unsuccessful and the Lady Luck continued to decline.

Finally, in 2013, after years of decline, the Lady Luck Casino was closed for good. The property was sold and is now being redeveloped into a new hotel-casino called The Drew Las Vegas.
