What Happens if You Get a Blackjack in Blackjack?

When you’re playing blackjack, one of the best feeling in the world is when you hit a blackjack. This is when you’re dealt an Ace and a 10-value card on the first two cards dealt to you.

It’s an instant win, unless the dealer also has a blackjack. In that case, it’s a push, or a tie.

But what happens if you get a blackjack? Well, first off, you get paid 3-2 on your bet. So, if you bet $10, you’ll win $15.

That’s because blackjacks are relatively rare, and the casino wants to incentivize players to keep playing them.

Secondly, if the dealer does not have a blackjack, you can choose to either stay with your current hand and not receive any more cards (known as standing), or you can choose to receive additional cards (known as hitting).

If you choose to stand, the dealer will then play their hand. If they end up with more than 21 points, they will bust and you will win the hand automatically.

If they have 21 points or less, then whoever has the highest point total will win the hand.

If you choose to hit, then you will receive additional cards until either:

You decide to stand

You go over 21 points and bust

Once again, if the dealer busts with more than 21 points, you will win automatically. If not, then whoever has the highest point total will win the hand.
