What Is Push in Blackjack?

In blackjack, push is when the player’s hand and the dealer’s hand tie. This can happen with a natural blackjack (an ace and a 10), or it can happen when the player has 21 and the dealer has 21.

If this happens, the player gets their bet back, but they don’t win any money.

PRO TIP:When playing Blackjack, “Push” is a term used when the hands of both the dealer and the player have equal value. In this scenario, neither the dealer nor the player wins or loses and all bets are returned to their original owners.

A push can also happen if the dealer busts and the player doesn’t. In this case, the player still gets their bet back, but they don’t win any money.

If you’re playing blackjack and you tie with the dealer, it’s called a push. You don’t win or lose your bet; you just get your money back.
