The Gila River Indian Community is a federally recognized tribe of O’odham and Pee-Posh people in Arizona. The Community was established in 1859 as a reservation for the O’odham and Pee-Posh, who had been forced to relocate from their traditional homes in the Gila and Salt River valleys by United States government policy.
