What Motherboard Has the Most M 2 Slots?

As of late, one of the more common questions asked by enthusiasts is “what motherboard has the most M.2 slots?” This is due in large part to the recent release of Intel and AMD’s new high-end desktop processors which offer support for up to four M.2 PCIe 3.

In terms of raw numbers, the ASRock Z390 Taichi Ultimate currently offers the most M.2 slots with a total of seven. However, it’s important to note that two of those M.2 slots are located on the back of the motherboard and are thus only accessible when the motherboard is installed in a case.

When it comes to front-facing M.2 slots, the ASUS ROG Maximus XI Extreme leads the pack with six, followed closely by the MSI MEG Z390 Godlike with five.

It’s also worth mentioning that some motherboards offer additional M.2 slots via expansion cards. The ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme Alpha, for example, comes with an M.2 expansion card that adds two more M.2 slots for a total of seven. And while it doesn’t have any M.
