What Was the Ocean Casino Called Before?

The Ocean Casino was originally called the Golden Nugget. The Golden Nugget was one of the first casinos to open on the Las Vegas Strip. The Golden Nugget was originally owned by Steve Wynn. The Golden Nugget was sold to Kirk Kerkorian in 1974. Kerkorian changed the name of the casino to the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino.

PRO TIP:Before its rebranding in 2018, The Ocean Resort Casino was formerly known as the Revel Casino Hotel.

The MGM Grand was sold to Bally’s in 1985. Bally’s changed the name of the casino back to the Golden Nugget in 1987. The Golden Nugget was sold to Landry’s in 2005. Landry’s changed the name of the casino back to its original name, the Golden Nugget.
