What Were Razor Blade Slots For?

Razor blade slots were first introduced in the early 1900s as a way to make shaving easier and less dangerous. The idea was that by placing a razor blade in a slot, it would be held securely in place and the user could then shave without having to worry about the blade slipping.

While this may have seemed like a good idea at the time, it quickly became apparent that razor blade slots were not the safest way to shave.

Over time, razor blades began to rust and corrode when left in their slots. This made it more likely for the blades to break or chip, which could lead to serious injury.

In addition, the slots made it difficult to clean the razor properly, which could also lead to infection. As a result, razor blade slots were eventually phased out and are no longer used today.
