Where Is the Next WPT Poker Tournament?

The World Poker Tour (WPT) is a series of international poker tournaments and associated television series broadcasting the final table of each tournament. It was started in 2002 with the aim of increasing the public’s interest in poker.

The WPT is affiliated with the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and is owned and operated by Ourgame International, the parent company of the travel website operator CTrip.

The WPT has been broadcast on Fox Sports Net (2002-2003), ESPN (2003-2006), Travel Channel (2007-2012), and GSN

(2012-present). In addition, various WPT events have been shown on Spike TV, NBCSN, and MAVTV. The current Main Tour schedule consists of 28 events across North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and South America. The final tables of all Main Tour events are filmed and edited for television broadcast. The WPT televises main tour events throughout the year on Fox Sports Regional Networks in the United States.

In Canada, the WPT broadcasts on TSN. Outside of North America, poker fans can watch episodes of WPT action on PokerStars.tv. During Season XIX, there will be a total of 22 live coverage events. .

The first stop on Season XIX of the World Poker Tour will be at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City for the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open. The tournament will take place from January 16-21 with a $3,500 buy-in No Limit Hold’em event that features three starting flights.

The next event on the schedule takes us to beautiful MAldives for the WPTDeepStacks MAldives from February 21-28 at Hilton MAldives Resort & Spa. The $1,500 buy-in Main Event will have two starting flights with a reentry allowed during late registration period.

After a brief stop in India for the India Poker Championship from March 1-7 at Deltin Royale Casino in Goa, the tour moves to Europe for two back-to-back stops starting with partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Germany from March 8-14 at King’s Resort Rozvadov. The €5,300 Main Event will surely attract some big names as it did last year when Fedor Holz won it for over €1 million ($1,126,349).

Just one week later, another partypoker LIVE MILLIONS event will take place this time in Barcelona from March 15-21 at Casino Barcelona. This €5,300 buy-in tournament also features a €1 million guarantee for its Main Event which received 1,022 entries last year.

After Barcelona,
the tour heads back to North America for two more stops before taking its annual break for the WSOP in Las Vegas.

The first stop is at Thunder Valley Casino Resort just outside Sacramento for the running of the WPTDeepStacks Thunder Valley from April 13-18. This $1,100 buy-in tournament features three starting flights with a $500k guaranteed prize pool including a $200k guarantee for first place prize money. After Thunder Valley comes Choctaw Durant in Oklahoma for another WPTDeepStacks event from April 26 – May 1st. This is a $1,650 buy-in tournament that also features three starting flights and guarantees a prize pool of $1 million including a first place prize worth $200k .

These two tournaments wrap up what promises to be an exciting season of World Poker Tour action culminating with the finale event at Bellagio in Las Vegas this summer .
