Which Straight Is Higher in Poker?

In poker, there are many different types of hands that can be made. The most common are the high card, the pair, the two pair, the three of a kind, the straight, the flush, the full house, the four of a kind, and the straight flush.

Each hand has a different value and is ranked accordingly. The highest hand is the straight flush, followed by the four of a kind, the full house, the flush, the straight, the three of a kind, the two pair, the pair, and finally, the high card.

When it comes to comparing straights in poker, there are two main things to consider: the highest card in the straight and whether or not it is a “flush” straight. A flush straight is when all of the cards in the straight are of the same suit.

PRO TIP:The higher straight in poker is determined by the highest card of the straight. If two or more players have the same highest card, the second highest card in the straight is used to determine which hand is higher.

For example, if you have a hand that contains 5-6-7-8-9 all of clubs, that is a flush straight. If your hand contains 5-6-7-8-9 all of different suits (say hearts-clubs-diamonds-spades), then that is not a flush straight and is worth less.

The highest card in a straight also matters when determining which hand is better. For example, let’s say you have a hand containing 5-6-7-8-9 all of clubs (a flush straight), but your opponent has a hand containing 10-J-Q-K-A all of clubs (also a flush straight).

In this case, your opponent’s hand would be better because their highest card (the Ace) is higher than your highest card (the Nine).

When it comes down to it, then, there are really two things to consider when trying to determine which straight is better in poker: 1) Is it a flush straight? And 2) What is the highest card in each player’s hand? If both players haveflush straights withthe same highest card (say they both have J-Q-K-A), then it will come down to who has the next highest card in their hand; if one player has an Ace and the other has a King as their next highest card after their Ace then that first player would win since their Ace high beats out the other player’s King high.
