On May 29, 2013, Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. announced that it had completed its acquisition of Ameristar Casinos, Inc. for a total purchase price of $2.8 billion, including the assumption of $1.9 billion of Ameristar’s debt.

Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc. is a gaming and entertainment company that owns and operates sixteen casinos in the United States and one in Argentina. Ameristar Casinos, Inc., through its subsidiaries, owns and operates eight casinos in seven states.

Pinnacle Entertainment plans to combine Ameristar’s operations with its own, creating a gaming and entertainment company with a portfolio of more than 35 properties in 19 states and two countries. The company will have approximately 60,000 employees and operate approximately 90,000 slot machines and 2,700 table games.
