If their up-card is low (2-6), they will likely hit because they need more points to get closer to 21 without busting; if their up-card is high (7-Ace), they will likely stand because they don’t want to risk busting themselves; if their up-card is a 7 or 8, they will likely stand; if their up-card is a 9 or 10, they might stand or hit depending on what your cards are; if their up-card is an Ace, they might stand or hit depending on what your cards are and whether they think you’re likely to bust yourself if they give you another card; finally, if they have a Blackjack (an Ace plus any 10 point card), then they will definitely stand because they know they have won already!

Once the dealer has finished taking their turn hitting or standing, it’s time for everyone left in the hand to reveal their totals and see who has won or lost. If anyone has a higher total than the dealer without going over 21, then they win; if anyone ties with the dealer’s total exactly (it happens sometimes!), then it’s a push and nobody wins or loses; finally if anyone has a lower total than the dealer OR if anyone went over 21 (busted), then they lose automatically regardless of what the other player’s totals are!
