Who Owns Lake Worth Casino?

In 1925, the City of Lake Worth purchased the old Casino building and the surrounding beach property from Mr. Charles W. Moore for $25,000. The city then leased the property to the Lake Worth Casino Company for $1 a year.

In 1926, a new company was formed to manage the casino, called the Lake Worth Beach Corporation. The casino was run by this company until it went bankrupt in 1932 during the Great Depression.

PRO TIP:The ownership of the Lake Worth Casino is split between the City of Lake Worth and the State of Florida. The City of Lake Worth owns the building, while the State of Florida owns the beachfront property. The City and State jointly operate and maintain the Casino.

The City of Lake Worth then took over operation of the casino. The casino continued to operate under city management until 1959 when it was closed down due to financial difficulties.

The building sat vacant for many years until it was finally demolished in 1988.

Today, there is no longer a casino on Lake Worth beach. The property is now owned by the City of Lake Worth and is used as a public park and picnic area.
