Who Owns the Silverado Casino in Deadwood?

In the late 1980’s, a group of investors from California came to Deadwood, South Dakota with the intention of buying and reviving the historic Bullock Hotel. The Bullock had been a central fixture in Deadwood since 1876, when it was first built by pioneer Seth Bullock. It had been one of the most luxurious hotels in the Black Hills, but had fallen into disrepair in recent years.

The Californians’ plan was to not only restore the Bullock to its former glory, but to also build a new casino adjacent to the hotel. They purchased the property and set to work.
