Why Did Sands Casino Change Its Name?

In 2012, the Sands Casino in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, changed its name to the Wind Creek Casino. The change was made in order to better reflect the property’s new ownership and management.

The casino was originally owned and operated by the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. However, in May of 2018, the company sold the property to an affiliate of Wind Creek Hospitality, a Native American tribe based in Alabama.
