Why Do You Put RAM in the 2nd and 4th Slots?

If you have a dual-channel motherboard and you want to install two RAM modules, you should put them in the same color slots. For example, if your motherboard has two black slots and two white slots, put one RAM module in each color slot.

That way, the RAM modules will be running in dual-channel mode.

The performance difference between running in dual-channel mode and single-channel mode is significant. In dual-channel mode, the two RAM modules can work together to transfer data more quickly.

In single-channel mode, the RAM modules can only transfer data one at a time.

So, if you want to get the most out of your RAM modules, make sure to install them in the correct slots.
