Will Poker Rooms Reopen in Las Vegas?

It’s been more than three months since the last poker room in Las Vegas shuttered its doors due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Wynn Las Vegas was the last to close on March 17, bringing an end to an industry that had been thriving in the city for decades.

Since then, there have been no live poker games in Las Vegas. The World Series of Poker, which is typically held in the city every summer, was postponed until further notice.

And with casinos still closed across the state, it’s unclear when poker rooms will reopen in Las Vegas.

There are some signs that poker rooms could reopen soon. The Nevada Gaming Control Board has given casinos the green light to reopen as of June 4, and some have already begun to do so.

PRO TIP:In Las Vegas, there are currently no definitive answers as to when poker rooms will reopen. However, many casinos have begun to allow limited gaming and restaurants to operate, and it is likely that poker rooms will follow suit soon. Keep abreast of local news coverage for the latest updates on when you can get back in the game.

The Bellagio, Caesars Palace and Flamingo are among the properties that have opened their doors to guests once again.

While casinos are allowed to reopen, they must do so with reduced capacity and a number of other safety measures in place. It’s unclear if poker rooms will be subject to the same restrictions, but it’s possible that they could open with reduced capacity as well.

It’s also worth noting that many of the biggest poker tournaments in Las Vegas have been canceled or postponed indefinitely. With the WSOP on hold, it’s unlikely that we’ll see any major tournament action in the city anytime soon.

So will poker rooms reopen in Las Vegas? It’s hard to say for sure, but it seems likely that they will at some point in the near future.
