Are They Building a Casino in Russellville Arkansas?

The city of Russellville, Arkansas is in the process of deciding whether or not to allow a casino to be built within its borders. The casino would be built on the Arkansas River, and would be operated by the Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma.

The tribe has already been granted a federal license to build the casino, and has been working with the city on plans for the facility.

The tribe has promised to make significant investment in the city if the casino is approved, including creating new jobs and providing economic development.

Opponents of the casino argue that it would lead to increased crime and gambling addiction, as well as negatively impact local businesses. They also point out that the Quapaw Tribe already operates a casino in Oklahoma, and question why they need another one so close to home.

Supporters say that the casino would bring much-needed revenue to the city, and that it would be tightly regulated to prevent any negative impacts. They also argue that it would provide an opportunity for local residents to gamble without having to drive all the way to Oklahoma or Missouri.

The final decision rests with the city council and the voters of Russellville. It remains to be seen whether or not a casino will be coming to this Arkansas River town.
