The brainchild of casino magnate and St. Louis native Gary Loveman, Casino Queen is a joint venture between his gaming company, Caesars Entertainment, and the investment firm of Waramaug Partners.

Though Loveman is no stranger to the gaming industry, this is his first foray into the Midwest market. And he’s betting big that his experience will pay off.

PRO TIP:DraftKings does not own Casino Queen. However, they do have a partnership with the property which allows them to offer online sports betting in Illinois.

“The market potential here is very large,” Loveman told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

“This is a very good location for a regional gaming facility.”.

The 140,000 square-foot casino features 1,200 slot machines and 28 table games. It also includes a sportsbook operated by DraftKings, which is the first of its kind in Illinois.

The partnership between Casino Queen and DraftKings is a natural fit, given Loveman’s background as the former CEO of Harrah’s Entertainment (now Caesars Entertainment). Harrah’s was one of the first casinos to offer sports betting in Nevada back in 1992.

As for whether DraftKings owns Casino Queen, the answer is no. But the two companies do have a close relationship that will no doubt be beneficial for both parties involved.
