How Do You Play Blackjack in RDR2?

In Red Dead Redemption 2, blackjack is a minigame you can play at various locations. The goal of blackjack is to have a hand value higher than the dealer’s, but not exceeding 21.

You play blackjack with a standard 52-card deck, and you can bet on each hand. .

If you have a hand value of 21 on your first two cards (called a “natural”), you automatically win and are paid 3-2 odds on your bet. If the dealer also has a natural, it is a tie and your bet is returned to you.

If you do not have a natural, you can hit (ask for another card) or stand (keep your current hand). If your hand value exceeds 21, you “bust” and lose your bet.

If the dealer busts, all players who did not bust automatically win and are paid even money on their bets.

Once all players have either busted or chosen to stand, the dealer reveals their hand. If the dealer has a natural, all players who did not bust lose and are paid even money on their bets.

Otherwise, the highest hand wins and is paid even money.

In Red Dead Redemption 2, there are two main types of blackjack: regular blackjack and Spanish 21. Spanish 21 is played with a Spanish deck that does not have any 10s, so the highest possible hand is 31.

Spanish 21 also has special rules that give players certain advantages, such as being able to hit on soft 17s (hands with an Ace that totals 17).

To play blackjack in Red Dead Redemption 2, simply approach one of the blackjack tables located in any of the gambling establishments in Saint Denis, Valentine, or Tumbleweed. Once at the table, select “Play” from the game menu.

You will then be given the option to bet on the next hand. Select an amount to bet and then press “Deal” to start the game.
