How Do You Play Pontoon Blackjack?

Pontoon is a blackjack variation that is played with eight decks of cards. The aim of the game is to score 21 points, or as close as possible to 21, without going over.

The dealer starts the game by dealing two cards to each player face down. The dealer then deals themselves two cards, one face down and one face up.

Players then have the option to either hit (take another card) or stand (stay with the cards they have). Once all players have either hit or stand, the dealer reveals their face down card and scores their hand.

If the dealer has less than 17 points they must hit, if they have 17 points or more they must stand. If the dealer goes over 21 points they ‘bust’ and all players still in the game win.

Players win Pontoon by having a higher score than the dealer, or by the dealer going bust. If both the player and dealer tie on 21 points, this is called a ‘push’ and no one wins or loses that hand.
