The casino has a 70,000 square foot (6,500 m2) gaming floor with 1,500 slot machines, 24 blackjack tables, and a poker room. There is also a buffet, a food court, and several restaurants.

The Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon purchased the land for Spirit Mountain in 1983 for $8 million. The tribe decided to build a casino on the site because of its location near Interstate 5, which connects Oregon’s major cities.

Construction on the casino began in 1991 and it opened on February 28, 1992.

In March 2007, the tribe announced plans to expand the casino. The expansion would add 100,000 square feet (9,300 m2) to the gaming floor, for a total of 170,000 square feet (15,800 m2).

It would also add a new hotel with 200 rooms and a convention center with 30,000 square feet (2,800 m2). The expansion was completed in 2009.
