How Many Spell Slots Does a Wizard Have?

A wizard has a spellbook containing all the spells they know, and they can prepare a number of those spells to cast each day. The number of spells a wizard can prepare is determined by their level; higher-level wizards can prepare more spells.

In addition, each wizard has a number of bonus spell slots, which they can use to cast spells they know without preparing them in advance. The number of bonus spell slots a wizard has is determined by their Intelligence score.

At first level, a wizard can prepare four 0-level spells and two 1st-level spells. They also have two bonus spell slots.

As they increase in level, they can prepare more spells, as well as gaining additional bonus spell slots.

As you can see, a wizard has a lot of flexibility in how many spells they can cast each day. They can prepare any combination of known spells, as long as the total number prepared does not exceed their limit for the day.
