There are many different ways to play blackjack, but the basic rules are always the same. The object of blackjack is to get a hand with a value as close to 21 as possible without going over. The value of the Ace is 1 or 11, whichever is better for the player.

All other cards are worth their face value. The goal is to beat the dealer’s hand without going over 21.

In order to play blackjack, you will need a deck of cards and chips. You can either play with real money or fake chips.

If you are playing with real money, you will need to exchange your cash for chips at the casino cage. If you are playing with fake chips, you can get them from the dealer.

The game starts with each player making a bet. Once all bets have been made, the dealer will deal two cards to each player and two cards to themselves.

One of the dealer’s cards will be face up so that all players can see it. This is called the up-card.

After looking at their own cards, each player must decide whether to hit or stand. Hitting means taking another card from the deck in hopes of getting closer to 21 without going over.

Standing means keeping the hand you have and taking no more cards.

Once all players have either hit or stood, it is time for the dealer to play their hand. The dealer must hit if their up-card is 16 or lower and must stand on 17 or higher.

If the dealer goes over 21, this is called a bust and all players who did not bust win their bet.

If you have not busted and have a higher total than the dealer, you win your bet! Blackjack pays 3:2, which means if you bet $10 and win, you will be paid $15 (3 x $10 = $30, $30 – $20 = $10). If it is a tie, called a push, then you keep your original bet but do not win any money from the casino.
