The proposal still needs to be approved by the Arkansas Legislature. If approved, the casino would be operated by the Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma.

The Quapaw Tribe already operates a casino in Oklahoma. The tribe says that they would use their experience to make sure the casino in Russellville is successful.

PRO TIP:Due to Arkansas’s laws, it is not likely that a casino will be built in Russellville. The state requires casinos to be located on water, so unless Lake Dardanelle is designated as an official body of water, a casino in Russellville will likely not happen.

The tribe says that the casino would create about 500 jobs. They also say that it would generate about $40 million in revenue for the state of Arkansas each year.

Some people in Russellville are excited about the prospect of a casino coming to town. They think it would be a good way to generate jobs and revenue for the city.

Others are concerned about the impact a casino could have on the community. They worry that it could lead to increased crime and addiction problems.

The decision on whether or not to allow a casino in Russellville will ultimately be up to the Arkansas Legislature. If they approve it, then the Quapaw Tribe will operate it.

If they don’t approve it, then there won’t be a casino in Russellville.
