Robert Francis “Blackjack” Mulligan (November 26, 1926 – March 7, 2016) was an American professional wrestler, author, and actor.

Mulligan was born in New York City. He was a Golden Gloves boxing champion as a teenager and served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He began his professional wrestling career in the early 1950s. Mulligan wrestled in the World Wide Wrestling Federation under his own name and as “Big Bob Orton” (not to be confused with Bob Orton, Sr.

). In the 1960s, he formed a tag team with Dick Murdoch, known as The Blackjacks. The team won several championships, including the WWWF Tag Team Championship. They held the title for more than six months in 1968.

In the 1970s, Mulligan began wrestling in singles matches. He won several regional championships, including the NWA Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship and the NWA United States Heavyweight Championship.

He also had a successful acting career, appearing in such films as The Godfather Part II (1974), Rocky (1976), and Superman (1978).

Mulligan retired from wrestling in the early 1980s. He published his autobiography, Is That Wrestling Fake? The Blackjack Mulligan Story, in 2009.

Mulligan died on March 7, 2016, at the age of 89.
