What Is No Bust Blackjack?

Most blackjack games are played with what’s called a “hard hand,” meaning one in which the only possible values are 1-10. But in some variants, such as “no bust blackjack,” the Ace can either count as 1 or 11.

This makes it possible to get a “soft hand,” one with multiple possible values. For example, an Ace and a 2 could be worth 3 or 13.

No bust blackjack is also sometimes called “blackjack without limits” because there is no upper limit on the number of cards you can draw to try and get closer to 21. In regular blackjack, if you hit 21 with more than two cards you automatically lose, even if the dealer also goes over 21.

But in no bust blackjack, you can keep drawing as long as you want without fear of going over 21.

The goal of no bust blackjack is simply to have a hand closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. If both you and the dealer go over 21, then it’s a tie and nobody wins.
